The Princess of Mamoru's Dreams
Usagi and Mamoru are trapped in an elevator at the Starlight Tower by Zoisite. As they ride to the top, Usagi gets up the nerve to ask Mamoru why he was talking to Zoisite about the Rainbow Crystals. Mamoru tells Usagi that he is seeking the Rainbow Crystals so he can recall his memories and also find the legendary Silver Crystal (ginzuishou). Usagi is startled that Mamoru knows about the ginzuishou. Mamoru then tells the story of how his parents died in a car accident when he was a young boy and since then he has not been able to remember anything about his past. He goes on to tell Usagi that ever since that time, he has been haunted by the same dream over and over again. We then see a portion of Mamoru's dream where a princess in a white gown with long flowing hair blowing in the breeze appears facing a shimmering moon. The princess turns towards Mamoru with tears in her eyes and says, "The Silver Crystal . . . Please, the legendary Silver Crystal . . ."
This is a huge longtime wishlist/dream cel of mine! I am so glad I went ahead and bought this cel despite the steep price. This turned out to be the end cel of the scene and is by far the best shot of her face imo. Also, her hair is on a separate layer, so this is the only perfect shot of her with her eyes fully open. Oh how I wish this cel came with the other hair layers and sparkle layers. I wonder if the rest of them were just thrown out. ;_; Also, I am not sure about the background in this case. It appears to be the matching background with the exception of the shimmering moon. The cel is also backlit (painted all black on the back) so I am almost 100% sure the background is matching and the moon was added as a special effect later. I have included a scan of the cel without the sparkle layer so you can get a better look at her face. I will cherish this cel for a long time to come. ^__^
