While Rei is telling the other girls about her cousin Kengo, she remembers back to when she visited Kengo as a small child. One by one Kengo destroys each piece of his pottery that has the slightest bit of imperfection, saying they are all failures. When he goes to smash a bird pendent he also made, chibi Rei starts crying and begs him not to destroy it.
